Chlorhexidine gluconate at 0.12% w/v (i.e. 0.12 g chlorhexidine gluconate per 100 mL)

Use the solution full strength—do not dilute with water, as this will significantly reduce its antimicrobial effectiveness.

Rinse gently for 30–60 seconds, then spit out; do not swallow.

Avoid eating or drinking for at least 30 minutes afterward to allow residual CHX to exert its prolonged antiseptic action.
